En Japanese Culture

About Us

Yasuko Norris, the founder of
En Japanese Culture in Singapore,
was born in 1967 in Izumo, Shimane Prefecture.
This is home to a very well-known Taisha Shrine dedicated to “EN” (Serendipity)

Passionate about sadō (Japanese tea ceremony) and kimono,
it has always been Yasuko's dream to set up a private academy in Singapore.
In 2017, she founded En Japanese Culture;
thus creating a space that has the best possible learning environment for her students.
Easily accessible in central Singapore, the area is also frequented regularly by the local Japanese community.
Our Academy
Our academy is located on the third floor of 11 Mohammed Sultan Road.
We have a modern, raised eight tatami mat platform, with a separate preparation area,
and an adjacent classroom for lectures and discussion groups.
Students of all levels are welcome.
Allow us to organise lessons to suit your learning level and timetable;
lessons can be scheduled for the morning, afternoon or early evening.
